The BEST Taco Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound of large shell pasta
  • 1 tablespoon of canola oil
  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped finely
  • 4 cloves of garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 1 cup of your favorite jarred salsa
  • 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, according to your taste

Garnish

  • Extra cheese
  • Crushed tortilla chips
  • Sour cream
  • Freshly chopped parsley

Instructions

Start by cooking the large shell pasta according to the directions mentioned on its packaging. Once cooked, drain the water and set it aside for further use.

While your pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet on a medium-high heat setting and add a tablespoon of canola oil. As the oil starts to sizzle, introduce the ground beef into the skillet, crumbling it with a spoon until it’s browned and devoid of any pinkness.

Carefully discard the accumulated fat from the skillet.

Stir in the finely chopped yellow onion and minced garlic, allowing them to cook for a minute, infusing their flavors into the beef.

Now it’s time to spice things up! Add the taco seasoning, dried oregano, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Follow up with the 3/4 cup of water, stirring and cooking the mixture until the water evaporates.

Combine the cooked pasta, your favorite jarred salsa, and shredded cheddar cheese into the skillet, ensuring everything is thoroughly mixed.

Serve your delicious dish straight away! For a grand finale, top it with some extra cheese, crushed tortilla chips, sour cream, and freshly chopped parsley for an extra burst of flavor.
