Peanut Butter Delight: Cake and Frosting

Ingredients:

The Cake:

2 ¼ cups All-purpose flour
2 cups Light brown sugar, packed
1 cup Creamy peanut butter
½ cup Unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 tsp. Baking powder
½ tsp. Baking soda
1 ¼ cups Whole milk
2 tsp. Pure vanilla extract
3 large eggs, room temperature

The Frosting:

½ cup Creamy peanut butter
2 Tbsp. Raw honey
1 tsp. Pure vanilla extract
2 cups Confectioner’s sugar
4-5 Tbsp. Whole milk
Mini chocolate chips, for an optional flourish

Instructions

Set your oven to preheat at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a large bowl, integrate all the cake ingredients together. Blend them until you have a smooth, creamy batter. The peanut butter and softened butter should incorporate seamlessly into the flour and sugar, thanks to the eggs, baking powder, and baking soda. The vanilla extract adds a subtle hint of flavour, which complements the richness of the peanut butter.

Once blended, decant the batter into a 9×13 baking dish. Be sure to grease the dish amply to prevent the cake from sticking.

Cook the cake in the preheated oven for a duration of 35-40 minutes. A clean toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean, indicating a perfectly baked cake.

After baking, allow the cake to rest and cool.

Meanwhile, to prepare the frosting, warm the peanut butter and honey in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds. Stir them together until well mixed.

Blend this warmed peanut butter and honey mixture into the remaining frosting ingredients. Keep mixing until you achieve a smooth, spreadable frosting.

Once the cake has sufficiently cooled, smother it in this delicious frosting. Generously ice the cake using a spatula, ensuring an even spread.

If you fancy a touch of extra indulgence, sprinkle the top of the iced cake with mini chocolate chips. This not only adds a delightful crunch, but also a visual appeal.

Your Peanut Butter Delight is now ready to be savored and shared. Indulge in its rich, creamy goodness and enjoy every bite!
