Breakfast Banana Split

This breakfast is super quick, really nutritional, and so so yummy! (I really cannot express that enough). The banana and sweet yogurt mix make for a creamy taste, but the added strawberries give this breakfast recipe a quick zing of flavor. Oh, and the crunchy almonds add a swift and subtle addition to this recipe, and you get some needed protein from them along the way. I’ve been eating this for breakfast a lot over the last week. I’ve been away from blogging for a little bit, but I am officially back on a plan (as of last week). My deadlines at uni are finally at bay for a little while, so I can focus on banging out some new content!

What I needed for the recipe:

Chopping board

Small knife

Scales

Small mixing bowl

Stirring spoon

Measuring spoons

Ingredients you need to Make Breakfast Banana Split?

  • 1 banana
  • 4 strawberries (blueberries are optional for some extra fruit)
  • 100g of fat-free greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp of granulated sweetener (0.5 a syn)
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 12.5g of flaked almonds (3.75 syns)
  • 1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips ( Optional )

Preparation of this Recipe:

  1. Split one banana in half and down the middle and chop up the strawberries into slices
  2. Weigh out the yogurt and mix it with the sweetener, vanilla extract, and strawberries. You’ll want to leave a small amount of the strawberries (a few slices), so you can garnish
  3. Layout the banana onto the plate, plop the yogurt mix on top and add the remaining strawberries.
  4. Weigh out 12.5g of flaked almonds and sprinkle them on top.
  5. Enjoy!
